About the project: Professor Williams teaches in one of the new classrooms with dual-screen LCD TVs. He has integrated using the two screens into his teaching style to make content more accessible to students.
Goals: To display different content simultaneously, even from different devices, to enrich student learning and provide easier access to lecture content.
Technology Requirements: One of the dual screen classrooms (A125-127, A-435, LLH). Professor Williams also uses an iPad, which can currently only be connected to one of the screens in A-435.
Outcome: Using the dual screens has proven to be particularly useful for case studies that involve separate images and media. In his Medical Neuroscience course, these case studies involve radiology images that students need to look at while also reading the text of the case. Professor Williams has found that using the dual-screens has simplified the process of presenting these materials. In his own words, “In the past, I would have to scroll up and down between the text and image based on requests from different groups.”
